Everyone has had an annoying coworker at some point in their professional career. There's the one who plays loud music, eats obnoxiously, or types like they want everyone to pay attention to them. And, of course, there's the coworker who overshares about their weekend and their personal life.
This employee was temporarily fooled into thinking their annoying coworker was out for the day. Just when they thought they had a day alone to themselves, they saw that he was just arriving late. To stomach the pain of this revelation and to buy themselves a few more moments of peace, they decided to press every single button on the elevator so that it would take approximately a century before it picked up the annoying coworker. As one person in the comments section suggested, this is perhaps the best form of petty revenge: no serious consequences, no one gets hurt, just causing a complete nuisance.
